No, we only work with gel. If not interested in gel, we offer non-polish options with Basic Manicure and Deluxe Pedicure - No Polish.
We don't work with acrylic, but do have equivalent nail extensions in gel, which are Aprés Gel-X and Builder/Hard Gel Sculpted Extensions.
Yes, clients must be at least 12 years old for gel polish services, and at least 16 years old to receive any nail extension service. Growing teen’s nail plates are softer and therefore more vulnerable to permanent damage, especially since they’re more active as well.
Oregon law permits only service animals in a salon, which does not include emotional support animals under the ADA.
Aprés Gel-X are preformed nail extensions, coming in a variety of lengths/shapes, which are adhered with gel and therefore able to be soaked off without damaging your natural nails during removal. Great for a special occasion, Aprés Gel-X must be removed each visit before another service can take place.
On the other hand, if you want to maintain nail extensions, Builder/Hard Gel Sculpted Extensions use structured gel to fortify your natural nail and build out shape/length from there. Gel Sculpted Extensions are refreshed each follow-up visit to fill in nail growth and change color, circumventing the usual removal process (and therefore healthier on nail beds).
Yes, that's our Builder/Hard Gel Overlay service.
Using the same structured gel product as Builder/Hard Gel Sculpted extensions, Gel Overlay instead stops at your natural nail length to add durability when regularly maintaining manicures and/or growing out your natural nails.
Gel Overlay is refreshed each follow-up visit to fill in nail growth and change color, which is known as Builder/Hard Gel Fill, circumventing the usual removal process (and therefore healthier on nail beds). Fill appointments require more time than initial Overlay application, so please schedule carefully.
The main difference is removal process, which Fills circumvent, so this only applies if taking a break from Overlay/Sculpted appointments:
Our Builder Gel services add strength that can be soaked off to remove (AKA "soft gel"). This reinforcement is enough for most clients, but some jobs/hobbies are more taxing on nails (like pottery or medical professionals washing hands a lot).
Hard Gel is even stronger & more lightweight due to its rigid non-porous structure, but that also means it cannot be soaked off. So, rather than full removal, Hard Gel is safely filed down as thin & smooth as possible, then left to grow out.
Nails are dead keratin cells, so no need to breathe. The primary risk of damage is actually loose nail enhancements, since that can pull at layers of nail plate or trap water underneath. So, with proper nail prep work & maintenance (including cuticle oil), taking a break is unnecessary.
We recommend regular appointments every 2 to 4 weeks in order to maintain the strength of Builder/Hard Gel Overlay and Gel Sculpted extensions. Going over 4 weeks requires additional time and cost to address nail apex & lifting, so please include “Rebalance” add-on.
We will try our best to accommodate your needs, but different types of services do require different amounts of time and skill sets, so please let us know ASAP. Our nail techs are usually booked back-to-back, so art time needs to be scheduled in advance as well.
Downgrading a scheduled service within 24 hours of appointment time is allowed. However, if time difference would be vast, it may be treated as a partial cancellation.
We require at least 24 hours notice before appointment time when canceling or rescheduling.
If you do not cancel your appointment before 24 hours of the appointment time, do not show up for your appointment, or are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment & we're unable to accommodate, then cancellation fee will be 100% value of your scheduled service.
Late notice makes an appointment timeslot unlikely to fill back up, so this policy is out of respect for our technician's time.
Finger Bang hires a wide range of salon-experience levels because, ultimately, we value artistic talent first and foremost. Alongside our experienced nail techs, Finger Bang is happy to help creative individuals acclimate to the fast-paced nature of salon work.
Newer techs may go longer than our more experienced techs, so their prices are set to our baseline, whereas Master & Senior techs have mastered agility. We have high standards for all nail techs here, new hires are simply allowed extra time to find their personal rhythm.
Our polish does not contain animal products!
